Unique Stays in Hocking Hills, Ohio
A house built into a sandstone cave, owner-built A-frames and glowing cabins in Ohio's most beloved woods.

About the area
Hocking Hills is Ohio's great escape: sandstone gorges, recess caves and waterfalls in a forest about an hour from Columbus. It is also home to some of the most inventive cabins in the Midwest.
At Dunlap Hollow, on 40 private acres, Bryant and Amy Gingerich built an A-frame that Airbnb named Ohio's most wish-listed cabin for fall 2025, and a 1,500-square-foot home set inside a natural recess cave. Nearby in Laurelville, the Glo Cabin, the Carpenter's Cabin and Twelve34 House each take the classic Hocking Hills cabin somewhere new. Each home was chosen for its design and for owners who care about the details.
