The Trek
A design-forward A-frame cabin with direct booking on a working farm in Montgomery, New York
The Trek sits quietly on a working family farm just outside Montgomery, designed as a slightly more elevated counterpart to The Step while still staying deeply connected to the land. It carries the same design language—simple, intentional, and grounded—but opens it up with a bit more space and ease.
The cabin is set low within the landscape, surrounded by open fields, a slow-moving stream, and wide stretches of uninterrupted sky. Light moves gently through the space throughout the day—soft in the mornings over the pasture, long and golden in the evenings as the farm settles into stillness. Wildlife and farm animals move through the surrounding land in subtle, everyday rhythms, shaping the atmosphere without ever being staged.
Inside, The Trek is minimal but warm. Natural textures, clean architectural lines, and a slightly more expansive layout create a sense of comfort without excess. Every detail is intentional, allowing the space to feel calm, open, and easy to live in. It’s the kind of place where time stretches—where you read longer, sit outside more often, and let the quiet take over naturally.
What defines The Trek most is its relationship to its environment. The farm is not a backdrop but the experience itself—its rhythm, its openness, and its quiet presence all shaping how the stay feels. It’s a landscape that feels lived-in, not curated.
And while it feels removed, it remains close to town. Cafés, small shops, and Hudson Valley destinations are only a short drive away, though most guests find they rarely feel the need to leave.
The Locèlle Take
The Trek stands out for its restraint and ease. It doesn’t overstate itself or compete with its surroundings. Instead, it trusts the land, the light, and the simplicity of being there—where the real luxury comes from what’s intentionally left out.
